As a private tenant, it is very important to know and understand your rights and obligations. Likewise, as a landlord, it is also very important to treat tenants fairly and professionally. Your rights and obligations will usually be set out in the tenancy agreement. Your landlord’s rights and obligations will also be set out in the tenancy agreement. The tenancy agreement governs your relationship with your landlord such as how much rent you are required to pay to your landlord, how much rent deposit you are required to pay, where your rent deposit will be protected and / or how to report disrepair issues affecting your tenancy.
